Melbourne Water Flood Mapping
Scope of Work
From 2021 to 2026 Melbourne Water has embarked on one of the world’s largest urban flood modelling programs, aiming to map every local government area and waterway within our vast catchment of approximately 13,000 km2.
This program is driven by the Flood Management Strategy for Port Phillip and Westernport, 2021-2031, which aligns MW and Local Government Authorities (LGAs) around the shared goal of implementing flood mapping data across the region.
The program includes flood mapping of over 70 riverine and LGA projects with a total value exceeding $30M.
Foresight Advisory in collaboration with Alluvium consulting partnered with Melbourne Water to provide comprehensive program management services, leading the flood mapping program with the following consulting services:
- Program leadership and strategic direction
- Procurement planning and management
- Project management
- Stakeholder facilitation and capacity building
- Change management support
- Program performance monitoring and reporting
- Team management and mentoring
- Technical hydrographic and flood modelling advisory services
